Rivets are not Stronger than Bolts
Rivets are not stronger than bolts. Bolts typically have far superior strength due to their design, while rivets are somewhat limited on actual strength due to the high heat necessary to install them. Rivets are better for vibration, but this isn’t a metric of: shear strength, yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, etc, etc, etc. To say rivets are stronger than bolts is simply untrue. They are simply better suited for certain applications due to vibration, the bolts tend to be significantly stronger. Significantly. This is in tensile strength AND in applied strength.
